Google Sightseeing: Felicity, California

For centuries, scientists and dreamers alike have attempted to locate the centre of the Earth. But you don’t need to now anything about drill cores, ellipsoids and magma temperatures to find it. All you need is directions from Exit 164 on Interstate 8 in Imperial County, California, for just off of Exit 164 lies Felicity, California, the ‘officially-designated Center of the World’. As part of Google Sightseeing‘s annual Desert Week, we venture to little Felicity and explore the little outpost in the middle of the Sonoran Desert founded by skydiving pioneer Jacques-André Istel in 1986 to commemorate the existence of humanity. Confused? You won’t be after this week’s episode of Soap reading this latest post at Google Sightseeing.
