Google Sightseeing – Rock ‘n’ Roll R.I.P.s

The latest TBG article for Google Sightseeing is a little bit morbid, as the post takes viewers on a tour of death sites and memorial sites of famous musicians both old and new (you can view the article here).  Naturally, the day after the post got published another major rock star of the past, Davy Jones of the Monkees, passed away at the age of 66, finishing off a six-week run that has seen the losses of Whitney Houston, Ella James, Christopher Reimer (Women), Tonmi Lillman (Lordi), Michael Davis (MC5), Red Holloway, and Tom Ardolino (NRBQ), among others.  As someone whose daytime work these days involves music nearly as much as it does geography, it’s been rather depressing to read about all of these.  Consider the GSS article a little bit of purging.
