More Lines of Largest Settlements

Following up on Wednesday’s post regarding lines of largest settlement (a way to put the bed the issue of what constitutes the northernmost and southernmost (or westernmost/easternmost) cities in a region), here are examples from six more regions. Overall, I was surprised by how often the north-south and west-east lines converged outside of their ultimate destination (the region’s largest city, of course). I was also greatly amused by how much long it took to compile the lines for tiny Luxembourg as opposed to Florida. As Florida is pretty much rimmed with major metropolitan areas along its ocean shores, it wasn’t a very hard region to complete. Luxembourg, on the other hand, only has one metropolitan area in the entire country and thus required hunting down population statistics for fairly obscure communes. And don’t get me started on Cape Verde.
